Auto Theft coin to benefit the family of OCSO Deputy Reckling #1972

Beginning in August of 2023 the Troy Police Department Special Investigations Unit (SIU), composed of Officers from Troy, Auburn Hills, Birmingham, Bloomfield Twp. and Royal Oak police departments, began investigating a crime ring operating on Telegram in a chat called "Buyers and Grabbers". Troy SIU partnered with the Michigan Attorney General's Office FORCE team which includes MSP and found that the group was responsible for the theft of over 400 vehicles worth approximately $8 million in Southeast Michigan. In May of 2024, over 200 Officers from state, federal, and local agencies conducted eight arrest warrants where suspects were taken into custody. This coin commemorates this lengthy and still ongoing investigation.

During the investigation, Deputy Brad Reckling was an integral partner and was with the Oakland County Sheriff's Department team conducting one of the arrest warrants.

On June 22, 2024, Deputy Reckling's life was taken while he was investigating a stolen vehicle in the City of Detroit. All proceeds from this coin will go to his wife Jacqueline and their children.

Coins are in production and will ship upon arrival.
